Holly Staniforth is a Manchester-based artist, who graduated in 2021 receiving a BA Hons in Photography from Manchester School of Art currently furthering their studies at the School of Digital Arts.
Sourcing images from her personal collection and other assorted web-based archives, Holly Staniforth digitally combines these disparate visual elements to build a florescent dreamscape; a space where the imagination takes over and the usual conventions of the photographic image melt away.
By layering earlier archive material from the 20th century with contemporary photographs and lacing the resulting image with neon hues, the work simultaneously points to a surrealist past and to a hyperreal digital present.
